Welcome to the Jordan Elementary School
Media Center!

I love to share great stories!
My name is Ms. Hesse, and I'll be celebrating my 23rd year in the JES Media Center this year!

I've always been an avid reader, but my desire to become a Media Specialist did not become apparent to me until after I graduated from St. Olaf College with a BA in Speech/Theater Education.  After several years of post-college work, I decided to follow my interest in library science, and I returned to school for my library/media certification. This area felt like the perfect fit for me, so I continued my education, and earned a MS in Library/Media Education from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Over the past 23 years, libraries have undergone major changes, and technology now determines not only how I learn, but also how I instruct students. My goal is to create readers, but also to assist students in accessing information, evaluating it, and ethically using it to represent thoughts and ideas.

In an effort to provide students with better access to our library resources, we recently updated our library software to provide students and staff with Internet access to our collection. To access the library software, simply use the Online Catalog button located on my webpage.

If you have any questions regarding the library/media program at JES, please do not hesitate to contact me. I can be reached at 952-492-4282, or at .

I look forward to working with you and your student during the 2016-2017 school year!
