Hello!  My name is Leah Weber.  I have been teaching for the Jordan School District since 1998.  I was a special education teacher sixteen years and currently I’m a Response to Intervention (RtI ) reading teachers.  I teach small reading groups of students that need extra support with improving their basic literacy skills along with increasing reading fluency. I’m a certified in Orton Gillingham Level I- II.   I have enjoyed teaching many children how to read over the years with O-G strategies and techniques.   I have also been trained in PRESS through the University of MN-Reading Research Center and have taught multi-leveled interventions to K-4 students.

As an educator it is important for me to identify individual academic needs, build confidence and to reinforce learning in a fun way no matter how hard it may be.

I grew up in Central Wisconsin were cheese is plentiful and the Packers are a family name.  I attended the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in special education.  Since then, I have taught adults at a correctional facility along with teaching one year at an alternative school setting for severely handicapped adolescents.  Next, I found my Jordan Elementary Job and moved to Minnesota.  Eleven years ago, I earned my Mater’s Degree in Teaching and Learning through Saint Mary’s University.  This Fall I will be starting the K-12 Reading Program at St. Mary’s University.

Please feel free to email or call me with any questions or concerns.   I enjoy being an educator and daily have the chance to make a difference.
