Welcome to First Grade!

Hello Families~
Happy school year! My name is Amanda McMahon. I grew up in Jordan and hold the Jordan community very dear to my heart.  I had an incredible summer at home watching my one year old son change, grow, and develop.  I love being a mom!  I hope you were able to spend some time together as a family as well.

I am very excited to be your child’s 1st grade teacher this year. I grew up in Jordan attending St. John the Baptist School and Jordan High School. After high school, I moved to Duluth where I attended the College of St. Scholastica, receiving my degree in Elementary Education.
After teaching 6th grade in Duluth, I moved back home to Jordan. I spent one year substitute teaching in Jordan and surrounding schools. I have taught one year of  Kindergarten and ten years of 3rd Grade at Jordan Elementary.  I have taught  a total of twelve years at Jordan Elementary and am excited to start my thirteenth year.

I earned my Masters Degree in Differentiated Instruction, which emphasizes classroom instruction for multiple learning styles. It was a two year program through Concordia University, and I am very excited to continue to incorporate the new strategies I have learned into my classroom.

I am so happy to be teaching at Jordan and am looking forward to a great and rewarding year.

Feel free to notify me with any concerns or questions.
