Dear Third grade students and families,

Hello and welcome to third grade. Our summer break has sure flown by.  I hope you all had time to relax and play.  Our family was able to get away to Remer, Minnesota for a week of fun on Boy lake. I am looking forward to hearing about all the fun things each of you did over your break.
I am so excited for the opportunity to get to know each of you and to begin our year together.
First, I will share a little about me. My husband Kenny and I have three grown children.  We have five grandchildren and
are looking forward to our 6th grandchild in January 2017.  Family is very important to us and we spend a lot of time together, usually a weekly gathering at our home. We live on a hobby farm and really enjoy the outdoors.
This is my twelfth year at Jordan Elementary. Prior to teaching here, I taught at Park Elementary School in Le
Sueur. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato and have a graduate degree from there as well.
It is my goal to build a positive and healthy relationship with each of my students. I pride myself on creating an environment where the children are comfortable and eager to learn. A vital part of your child's education is communication between home and school. Please feel free to e-mail me anytime or call me before or after school, with any questions or concerns you may have. I really enjoy being part of the Jordan School District and am looking forward to an exciting year of learning. I am looking forward to seeing all of you at conferences on Sept. 6th and 7th. See you soon.
Sincerely,

Gwen Schultz
