My name is Maggie Holbeck and I am the elementary school ELL teacher. This year will be my ninth year working in the Jordan school district and my second year as a teacher at Jordan Elementary. You may have seen me around before working with students at all three schools, supervising morning drop off and out in the community.
I live here in Jordan with my husband Ron, my son Alec, and our 2-year-old dog named Watson. I also have two daughters named Beth and Michelle who live in St Louis Park. Alec is in 11th grade at Jordan High School and my daughters both graduated from Jordan High School. Even though I grew up in Duluth, Jordan has become like home to me in the nine years I have lived here.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in Communication and a minor in Psychobiology. After working in the Jordan school district for several years with many caring and talented educators, I was encouraged to go back to school and earn a teaching license. In 2015, I graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a K-12 TESL teaching license.
When I am not working I enjoy playing games, reading, music, movies, hiking, and spending time with my family. Watson and I are currently training to complete a 300 mile hike next summer from Jay Cooke State park to Canada. It will take us about 24 days to hike the entire trail.
I cannot wait to see all of your smiling faces again and to meet some new students! We will have a very busy and exciting year together!
Please call or email me with any questions or concerns.
